Green Tara is a female Buddha and one of the most known goddesses in the Buddhist world. There are 21 forms of Tara, all represents goddess of universal compassion. Green Tara is a goddess of action who is in the posture of ease with right leg extended, signifying her readiness to spring into action. Her left leg is folded in the contemplative position on the lotus pedestal, symbolizing the integration of wisdom and art. Her left hand, in the gesture of granting refuge holds the stem of blue lotus that floats over her left shoulder as a symbol of purity and power. Green Tara is viewed as a protector helping her followers overcome the most difficult situations.
This sophisticated Green Tara Thangka painting is painted by a Tibetan Thangka Master in traditional style, using natural stone pigments. The final Thangka is framed with the most exquisite silk brocade border.
